Meeting Europe’s energy needs
Natural gas is a compelling and economical solution to complement the growth in renewable energy and meet consumers’ future energy demand in Europe. However, with domestic gas production set to drop by half in the next 20 years, the region will need to import more gas to meet its needs. Nord Stream 2 will provide a direct link to the world’s largest natural gas reserves in Northern Russia.
