Nord Stream 2 AG has founded a German subsidiary Gas for Europe GmbH. The new company is to become the owner and operator of the 54-kilometre section of the Nord Stream 2 Pipeline located in the German territorial waters and the landfall facility in Lubmin, as an independent transmission operator in accordance with the German Energy Industry Act (EnWG).

Subsidiary for the German part of the pipeline established

Jan. 26, 2022 | Zug, Switzerland | Nord Stream 2 AG has founded a German subsidiary Gas for Europe GmbH. The new company is to become the owner and operator of the 54-kilometre section of the Nord Stream 2 Pipeline located in the German territorial waters and the landfall facility in Lubmin, as an independent transmission operator in accordance with the German Energy Industry Act (EnWG).

In November 2021, the German Federal Network Agency (Bundesnetzagentur) had issued a statement saying that the founding of a subsidiary would be a precondition for the certification according to the German Energy Industry Act (Link).

Gas for Europe GmbH is headquartered in Schwerin.
