The logistics hub in Kotka, Finland
The port of Kotka figures as one out of four logistic hubs along the pipeline route through the Baltic Sea. The other ports chosen for the project are Hanko (Finland), Karlshamn (Sweden) and Mukran (Germany). This made it possible to optimise distances between pipe production facilities, coating plants, storage yards and, ultimately, the pipelay vessels.
