Nord Stream2 facilities will be built outside the Kurgalsky reserve
The Narva Bay route is the preferred option due to its lower environmental and social impact, compared to any other options that have been considered. It passes through the narrow, southern section of the Kurgalsky nature reserve and affects only 0.14 percent of its territory. The Nord Stream 2 team is drawing from the extensive experience associated with the successful implementation of the Nord Stream project which received an environmental award for the construction of the pipeline.
