Italian manufacturer PetrolValves produced the Large Top Entry Ball Valves (TEBV) for the landfall facilities in Germany and Russia. They can halt the flow of gas in the pipeline for planned maintenance or in the unlikely case of an emergency shutdown. The valves are 49 inches in diameter and weigh 100 tonnes, making them the heaviest and best performing such valves ever made. Six were installed in Germany and eight in Russia.
