About 101,000 steel pipes – half of the amount needed for the Nord Stream 2 Pipeline – were coated with concrete in the Wasco plant in Kotka, Finland, where some of them were also stored. The remaining pipes were transported to a temporary storage site in Koverhar, Finland, near Hanko. During construction, the coated pipes are shipped to the pipelay vessels on tight schedule from both storage yards.
